The Faculty of Trades and Services is a diverse faculty offering a range of programmes incorporating practical applications.
The focus of the faculty is to produce graduates who are work-ready in a number of areas within the trades and service areas, while encouraging them to continue with further study or apprenticeships.
Applied knowledge and skills are embedded in programmes using specialist training rooms and facilities. A number of programmes also include work experience and extensive internships. Many programmes are offered in a flexi or online delivery mode with a number of students studying while employed. The faculty is also involved in delivering industry training and these links are an important aspect for staff and students.
The faculty has relationships with industry, including Industry Training Organisations, who are in turn involved in curriculum development and the monitoring of standards. These relationships also keep us in tune with industry requirements across the areas we offer training in.
Tutors are well qualified with most coming directly from the industry sector in which they serve. As such, they are able to pass on relevant practical and theoretical knowledge to their students.
